Friday Night

Hung out with Caitlin, we ended up walking down to the 16th Street Mall, and walked over by the new Massage Envy she's going to be working at! Looks like a nice place. It's on 15h and Wewatta, it's opening Wednesday or Thursday!

Tonight I'm doing a show for Sam and Roger's Night of Hilarious Fun at Leela's European Cafe on 15th Street. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. It's all ages, too.

Loonees

Caitlin and I drove down to Colorado Springs last night. I was planning on just stopping in to hang out with my buddy, Nathan Timmel, who was headlining at Loonees and ended getting to perform and make a little money which was great. Awesome show, too, the crowd was great. I hadn't seen Nathan perform in a couple years, he's got a really solid act, very smart and clever, and funny! He took us to eat at Noodles & Company it was pretty delightful!

Jesse Carter Roast

MC'ed the Jesse Carter roast last night at Old Chicago, it was a lot of fun. It was neat to talk shit about people, lol.

Tonight I am performing down in Colorado Springs at Loonees with my buddy, Nathan Timmel! I haven't seen him in a long time, so it should be a lot of fun.

Saturday I am performing at Leela's European Cafe for the Sam and Roger's Night of Hilarious Fun! That should be a night of hilarious fun for sure.

Shows

Saturday night, Jake Sharon and I performed in Monte Vista, Colorado at Alibi's Sports Bar. It looked like a small crowd, but they ended up being pretty cool. Jake and I had a really good show, even though it started an hour late.

Sunday night we did another show for the UMS at the Hornet. The lineup was awesome: Jake Sharon, Talon Saucerman, Jordan Zuckerman, Brent the Great, Chris Charpentier, Sam Tallent and Hippieman just to name a few. The show went pretty long, but there were people actually hanging out and listening, so that was cool. I did 10 minutes and had a pretty solid set.

Monday night went to the Lion's Lair for a set. Did a bunch of Diabeetus jokes. Those are fun. Brimley.

Tonight is the roast of Jesse Carter at Old Chicago. I've got some stuff written for it, but need to put together a few more things. It should be fun, but I know some people will get their feelings hurt. Boo hoo.

Back to the 80's

I thought this was a neat writing exercise. Writing a story about the 80's, using a lot of 80's references. So, here is the story I wrote.

Corey Haim and I were watching "Night Rider" when the phone rang. Since it was attached to the wall, I had to run in the other room and answer it. On my way in the other room, I tripped over an Ewok Village toy that was had been left there by the kid from E.T. I was hurting, but I had to make dinner. I yelled in the other room, "hey, where's the beef?" After finding the beef and making supper for Corey, Elliott, and I, we decided to hook up the Atari! I wanted to play Asteroids, but Elliott wanted to play E.T. It made me crave Reese's Peice's, so I decided to go for a midnight snack. I put baby in the corner, and I was on my way.

As I was driving, listening to "Charma Chameleon" a weird black van pulled up next to me. A crazy looking black guy with a bunch of gold chains and a mohawk looked at me and creeped me out a bit. Not because of the chains and mohawk, because he was black....Michael Jackson black. I decided to ignore him and run to the convenience store. It was closed, what a convenience, back then 7-11 was open 7-11.

So, with no snack, I decided to just go home. I was getting ready for bed and had to step up on the toilet to reach my new tube of toothpaste. I ended up falling off the toilet and hitting my head...that's when I came up with the Flux Capacitor. It made it possible for time travel. The only thing is, I could only travel anywhere in the 80's.

I decided to travel to March 10, 1987, to put a stop to my favorite tv show from being cancelled...Fraggle Rock. I was too late, Scott Bakula had Quantum Leaped into my body and couldn't figure out what the hell I was doing there and ruined everything. The thing you never heard about Quantum Leap, what the hell happened to the person while Scott Bakula was you? Well, I found out, you had sit in a room and watch "Sidekick" starring Chuck Norris, over and over.

My next move was a huge mistake, I travelled to January 28, 1986 and got aboard the Challenger Space Shuttle....73 seconds later, I was dead.

Weekend

Friday night I did a show at Sobo 151. I went on pretty late, no one was listening. We had a lot of talented comics on stage, Jake Sharon, Matt Baca, Sam Tallent, Tim Coleman, Jodee Champion, Roger Norquist, Rick Bryan, and Nathan Lund.

Saturday, Jake, Caitlin, and I took a little road trip down to Monte Vista for a gig at Alibi's Sports Bar. We drove through the mountains on the way there. It was a pretty nice drive. The show was supposed to start at 8, but we started just before 9. The crowd was small, but they were a lot of fun. I ended doing a little over 40 minutes and Jake did a little over 50. I think everyone there had a good time, so it wasn't a bad night. We ended driving back to Denver after the show. We took I-25 on the way back, I fell asleep.

Tonight I am doing a set at the Hornet at 7 pm. A lot of great comics on the bill tonight, so if you get a chance come down! Hippieman will be there!

Comedy Works

Last night I did a set at the Comedy Works Landmark as part of the New Faces Contest. This is my 3rd time in the contest, first time, I didn't make it past the first round, the second time I made the semifinals, but wasn't able to make it up to Denver. Last night I advanced to the Wild Card round which will be August 18! D. Kelley, Roger Norquist, and Kenneth Newmeyer all advanced, it was a great show, congrats to those guys who advanced!

I'm performing tomorrow at Sobo 151 in Denver, it's part of the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase! Should be a lot of fun, lots of great comics. Hoping to check out some local bands as well.

Today I submitted my first column for "The Diatribe" magazine. My column is called, "Take That...." it's just me ranting a bit, it's pretty fun! "The Diatribe" is based out of northern Wisconsin near Superior and Duluth, MN.

Blogging is neat.
